Tomari Te - The lost Karate?

In response to the article on Ankoh Itosu, a few points which I have seen a different point of view or version of events;

In the article;
"7) Then there is the question of the katas Jion, Jutte and Jitte in the Itosu curriculum. Since they are not found in the curriculum of Tomarai traditions, Itosu could have learned them from either Gusukuma or Nagahama, either of which could have created them. It is perhaps a question for which we may never know the answer for sure but which begs further scrutiny"

On Tomari te, according to Fernando P Camara, of Shoreijikan Brazil, the purest school of Tomari te teaches Kushanku, Jion, Passai, Wanduan, Rohai, Wankan, Wanshu and Chinto. (And presumably, consequently, any other kata taught by Chinto and Jion Ji)

Mr Camara's website is http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Bleachers/6758/tomarite.htm

According to Mr Camara;
"However, most of the Itosu's knoweledge came from a Tomari master called Gusukuma, and not from Sokon Matsumura. Gusukuma was a disciple of Annan (see below) and of Jion (Ji), a buhddist monk, who learned the kata of the same name. Aparently, Annan taught to Itosu Naifanchi I & II, Passai, Rohai, and Wanshu, that he modified when created the Shorin school. From Jion he learned his personal form, that was known as Jion, and two Sai kata, Jitte and Jiin, that he adapted to empty hand kata. This is as the Tomari-te masters’ tradition see the development of karate in Shuri."

Other kata that too *could* be included in the Tomari te tradition are Rinkan, Nakasone's personal kata, Kokan (presumably invented by Kokan oyadomari), Annanku (if named after Ahnan) and the "lost" kata of Chinpe, Chinsu Juma and Uenibu. I have also seen that Unsu, originally a Pai Lum (White Dragon) form was practised originally in Tomari.

And according to Mr Camara, Nakasone's Rohai, Wankan and Wanshu seem much more like Naha Te kata.
