I like the way you guys are training, but wonder if you come to the same reality that I have, that knife fighting is nearly futile unless you got a improvised weapon Too.
You can defeat a man with a knife empty handed, but most likely you will get cut or stabbed, you gonna bleed unless you just lucky as hell.
I teach empty hand knife and gun, defense and offense, but with the knife and multiple knifers the frame of mind should be avoidance and make a improvised weapon. I've noticed that some people they get so locked into wanting to engage e/h that they ignore the metal chair near by, or stick, crow bar, wrench, screw driver, hammer, hard back books, beer bottle, brick or forget to get behind the desk!!! I train and try to imprint as long as U are breathing improvise 1st and e/h when and only if you have to. Silat/Kilia or Filiopinan methods are good but not the only way e/h with a knifer is bad news as your example show.
Learning to survive by any means neccessary should be taught not playing patting cakes with a knifers. Its makes you more comfortable in such and exchange but not always the survivor.
I take a knifer dead serious, obviously as do U, that was enlightening.
