BBB, you have found you answer already. Finding a teacher is the key to understanding the concepts of chi. Piccolo, you asked. "I have a question. Does pushing hands have anything to do with chi I tried something similar but didn't feel anything." Pushing hands does have something to do with chi development, but it is primarily focused on attaining sensitivity in the arms. What style of Tai Chi do you guys do?

Hi BBB I've heard of this, but I'm not sure I'd want to own up to it on an open forum. There are children here you know

I do Chen style Tai Chi, Fisherman.
As for push hands, it's a favorite exercise of mine.

Nice Ender! Chen style is THE original Tai Chi. Do you find that it complements you Karate? I know it certainly complemented my Kung Fu. Added alot of fluidity. However, I really don't do the Kung Fu too much anymore. My main focus these days is Tai Chi, Gao Style Bagua Zhang, and Hebei Hsing Yi. Keep training hard!

This exercise sounds like one I've done often making a ki ball. What you feel between the hands is the ki energy itself...

Hello there!
I'm really interested in learning an internal MA to complement Karate. But I don't think i can find a good teacher of IMA here in my place. The Chinese who migrated to other countries became teachers of martial arts. But the Chinese here are rich businessmen.
I know that there are group of old Chinese men doing tai chi in one area for relaxation. But i doubt that they can teach me since they just seem to be doing the movements and not really using ki.
Any advice on how i can learn to use and strengthen my ki?

I would suggest training with these old men.
They probably know more than you think.
Budo.
