fasting again

Hiya
I posted a fortnight or so about a fast I went on, which worked out pretty well. In a week or so I intend to do it again, but only this time for a week while doing strenuous excercise. I'm interested LOSING muscle this time, as I've bulked up quite a bit recently and want to tear some of it down so I work it up again with total control; I want to be as strong as possible without exceeding a certain weight limit. Would the best way to do this be mainly by long distance running? Before I do that though I need to stock up on a diet that is as nutritious as possible for the week prior to the fast. Can anybody tell me what they think would be the best way to go about this?

The best way to go would be NOT to fast.
There's not point in losing lean muscle just to rebuild it again.
If you looking to make weight for a certain category for fighting, that's one thing.
For general health, I'd advise NOT to fast. Your immune system will take a beating, among other negatives side efects.

I posted on this before and you rejected it that time, I'll say it one last time for your benefit. Fasting is unhealthy and does you no good (apart from perhaps spiritual effects). Combining fasting with rigerous exercise could make you ill. I am concerned that you could become anorexic or bulemic if your current mentality on this subject continues. I'd advise seeking medical advice immediately.
It's your body, do with it as you wish. This will be my last post on this subject, I wash my hands of it.

To my knowledge, there is no peer-reviewed. medical documentation supporting fasting. Leo gave an excellent post on the last thread regarding fasting, and I cannot say it as well as that. Starving your body of nutrients while over-training will prove to be disastrous. I believe you said you are 17 years old. This is a crucial time to be getting as many nutrients as possible. Do not deny. Try feeding your body image before deciding to starve your body itself.

Hiya,
Thanks for your concern everyone. I'm aware of the effects of fasting, but my mind is made up here. I don't really think that there are any long - term effects. Fasting while excercising would effect the immune system, but not permanently. I just really want to test myself. In any case, what would be the best way to stock up on nutrients before the fast?

Actaully now I think that doing a fast for a long period while excercising might do more bad than good because I'm not fully grown and I need the nutrients. I don't see anything wrong with fasting as a fully grown adult though. thanks for the advice everyone
