well... Since everyone is inventing new forms of martial arts.... then how about
Ape-fu
Yeh. you heard me... apefu.
Description: Just before your oponent lands a direct hit on you what do you do? You crouch down get on all fours and start acting like a mentally disturbed gorilla on a rampage. Weapons can be anything that you can get your hands on.... specially bananas. The histerical shouting should scare the crap of your oponent and if that doesnt work, then try climbing on his back and checking his head for bugs.
The down side: if you dont have a secure home you may wake up in a zoo cage or a mental hospital.

Speaking of bananas, have any of you brits ever solved the quandary of how to defend yourself against someone armed with a pointed stick? (Advanced topic, I know, but I feel we are past the "fresh fruit" stage of training.)

i thought the defence against the pointed stick, worked well, revolver at point blank!!
Monty python at its best.
But the defence against the white rabbit was better...
Brother Mainard and the holy handgrenade.... bit like land mine kata really..
