As in, no one is ever on. They also need new moderators to help out. I'm willing to if they want a young guy that's on a lot.

Welcome

Its not that no one is ever on---its as Dobb and Mata pointed out.

The newer folks don't seem to have many questions. Kinda tough to have a discussion board without people wanting to talk.

Wish I had an answer but the traffic on most boards seem to way down from their height back in the early-mid 2000's.

It might, sadly enough, mirror the way things happen out in the real world. There are plenty of experienced people more than willing to answer questions---but not so many people that want to ask them.

Do you think it's time they need? Or they just like to lurk. There is always people looking at the stuff on here. But people just are too lazy?

I don't think its time. Does not really take that long to either read or post.

It might be a question of interaction--if I can get my questions answered without taking part in a discussian then people often do exactly that.
I have noticed that over the years some people have shown a marked tendency to treat flesh and blood people as if they were simply a sort of very specific wikipedia page. They pop in, ask questions then are never seen/heard from again.

There may have been a generational change---when this site started being able to "talk" to people from multiple systems was kinda new.Over the years though most styles and schools developed their own websites and discussion boards.

It could be that only a small percentage of people take their training seriously enough to go and seek out other opinions and POV's. In the past people have reacted very badly to having their assumptions questioned.

At one point it was kinda of "known" that site was a bad place to ignorant on. Not as harsh as bullshido or a couple of others. So I'd guess that at least "some" people don't ever come and don't want to either.

It maybe that people know more now than they did--and the folks on this site have ALOT to do with that. I would not put myself in that catagory but there are many people former and current posters that did, IMO, a TREMENDOUS job in helping people learn, were willing to passs along what they know/knew and were willing to contribute.
If I had access to site like this when I was younger I would have made far better training choices.....and would be far less combative and bitter wink

Could be that the average age of the student has been dropping steadly for over a decade. The foucs for all to many schools---for business reasons--has been on an increasingly younger demograhapic and they are less likley to on the boards.

Could be any of the above or a combo of the above or stuff that never occured to me.

Ideas?????

I would understand better if you didn't use such large words lol. Jk. tired
Martial arts isn't for the people of today. I'm young-highschool don't judge just yet. I was raised with ways of a warrior- Native American stuff. My dad taught me to be strong- mind and body. And so I realized by 6 th grade that I was stronger in all aspects than any other person in my grade and over. What I'm trying to say is that people of today are weak, martial arts is for the strong, you must endure hardships to become strong. And teenagers don't have any discipline- at all. They rather text all day instead of looking for places like this to ask questions to be a better- i mean to start their path to martial arts.
