Something that's surprised me about Judo since I started is that I'm getting a permanent bruise on the left of my chest. I'm pretty sure that it's from people gripping my lapel and their knuckles rubbing/pressing against me there. Is this a common occurrence for Judoka?

I've never noticed it myself Leo, although I did get bruises in various places and would get friction burns about the neck.

Something which helped me a bit was getting a rashguard to wear under my gi, Leo. I don't know if you do that already but if you don't it might be worth considering.

I'll look into getting one. Any suggestions for good brands?
