Whatevery you do onto your opponent, they can do onto you! Now keep your guard in and quit moving your hands around to try and block every little flinch thast comes your way!

Another really good one! Both my AKK/WC striking experience and my BJJ grappling follow that concept. Gap = opportunity for the opponent.

These are some good ones. I hadn't checked this thread for a couple days. Here's another one the instructor uses when people get jerky and try to force a move to work:

-Fast isn't fast. Smooth is fast.

And some others:

-You say "It hurts when I try to do that/move like that/bend that way." Well, then don't do it that way.

-Don't think too hard about doing it right, because then you won't.

-If you screw up don't just stand there and stare at your opponent. Hit them and try something else!

Where the hips go, the body goes.

When you get hit, return the gift.

Never move in a straight line.

Never do the same thing more than twice.

The #1 rule I learned during my (very) brief stay at Ft. Benning is a good one: don't volunteer information. Meaning: don't tell anyone you train...let it be a surprise.

Sgt. Stuff: "Now, look how well this hold works..."
*applies hold to Harlan*

Twist... Stretch... Flip... *Thud*

Harlan: "Oh, sorry, I must have helped you wrong.. Can we try again?"

Sgt. Stuff: "Class... dismissed."
