Hey guys! For one, Happy New Years! Hope you all had a good one.

So, basically, I'm getting older (duh.), and I've got a job, and because of Christmas, it's been busy. My schedule has been overriding my off days, and because of that, I haven't been able to go to the ol' hole in the wall (i.e the dojo, hehe.). I was wondering until all this hubbub is over, if there are any tips you could give me on keeping clean and sharp on my studies?
Thanks guys!

P.S. Also, hope you had a Merry Christmas! laugh

Sounds like a good time to brush up on kata in your kitchen

Happy Holidays your own self

Try a bit of light stretching and a bit of shadow boxing (eases the stress of xmas).

Also, take it easy a bit when you do go back.

Iaibear and trevek have good suggestions. I would add some heavy bag work if you have one available.

I alway try to keep up with some fundamentals/basics, since they are the constants.
We have 9 basics in our karate that I find the most fundamental. I tend to do some reps of 3 or 4 techniques. Others may get worked on the next time of solo training. (Every other day or so.)

I have to backup Trevek here: "Also, take it easy a bit when you do go back."
This is especially important when away from training for over over 3 or 4 weeks. Training at home makes it less of an issue I guess.

Hello Zinc:

Practice whatever concepts you have been taught which are solo practices...

Practice basic techniques...
Practice Kata mechanics...
Practice striking things...

You will not have the diversity of your classmates who are single and able to attend classes. But you will not rust too much if you continue to practice whatever you are able...
