I got a support on my knee, I torn the tendons in it about 3 weeks ago, Doc said it could take between 2 weeks to 10 months to heal. depending on the severity of the injury. So no jumping kicks or fights for me for a while, my next Dan grade will be on hold till I'm fit enough too.
for general use i would go for neoprene knee supports, but don't get dependent on them. try some knee strengthening exercises to help you
