Does anyone have any info on the kata of Ashihara and/or Enshin karate?
Are the kata of Enshin revised versions of Ashihara kata, or are they completely different?
Which kata are there in both systems?

I did, but it doesn't show that much. And even then, in most cases, it shows kyokushinkai kata or just other ashihara or enshin stuff. (Sabaki Challenge for example.)

@ Ken, have you got an idea how the Enshin Kata relate to the Ashihara kata. I see some similarities.
I think these 'Jissen kata' are interesting for competition and sparring.

So once again my original quesions:
-Are the kata of Enshin revised versions of Ashihara kata, or are they completely different?
-Which kata are there in both systems?

For Some reason, I don't know why, Enshin Guys do not post their guys performing kata on You Tube so can't find any examples to compare.
As far as I can see from seeing the Enshin Kata, They have similara names and similar techniques but they all have the added influx of Kancho Ninomiya's Judo to the mix, as opposed to the Aikido Influences in Ashihara.

Hello Ken, probably more Ashihara and Enshin people over there. I have been reading 'The Sabaki Method' by Joko Ninomiya, but there isn't any comparison in it.

Hi Ives, found this

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9112972018247431046#

This is an Enshin Kata, its the same but different to the Ashihara Kata. I see techniques from Nage Kata, Kumite Kata and Kihon Kata rolled into the one kata

This looks like the application of the same kata

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9112972018247431046#docid=-783968795000940108

I know that Enshinkai only have 7 Kata in total

I have only 9 Ashihara Kata plus 3 I created for basics and children! The senior kata I practice Kihon Dai, Nage Dai, Kumite Dai, Goshin Dai & Jissen Dai are 2 - 4 kata mixed together (for example Kihon Dai kata is Kihon Kata 2 & 3 etc)
Ashihara NIKO has 17 kata

OSU

Hi Ken, interesting kata. They seem very raw, but effective.
They seem to rely on gross motor skill, so rather easily applicable when under stress. Nice find.
