Ives Enthusiast Registered: 04/25/05 Posts: 691 Loc: the Netherlands	Can anyone explain why there are such extreme differances in Wankan between Shotokan and Shorin styles? I've noticed differances among Shorin styles. But not that extreme as between Shorin and Shotokan. Shotokan's embusen is completely different. _________________________ Ives

Barad Member Registered: 11/27/06 Posts: 427	I have to say that the non-Shotokan versions look a lot more complicated than the Wankan that I practice, although there are some obvious similarities in the techniques between styles. Also, I have never really understood why the eyes are covered after the knee strike as you step forward a couple of times in Shotokan wankan, as I was taught it anyway. B.
