i have not been training like i want to because of school and work. my goal when i begin lifting weights and martial arts training is to become leaner and reduce body fat.my question is if it is ok to use glutamine and nitric oxide supp.if your goal is not to build muscle mass but to buid definition. my understanding is that nitric oxide is what give muscles that "pump" feeling by increasing blood flow to the muscles and glutamine helps muscle recover. will they help or hurt me? do i really need them? are they best for building muscle mass?

My question would be: If you have not even yet begun to work out, why would you need these advanced supplements? If you focus on basic nutrition first you will probably see good results in a couple of weeks.

Definition is not "built". It is from other things being removed - fat, water, etc. You can be very defined wothout having any muscle mass by not eating or drinking much, but I don't recommend it.

Cardio work at moderate levels for a decent length of time can work to reduce fat and water and increase vascularity. But weightlifting works better and faster.

Don't bother with the supplements. Most of them are garbage. Just watch what you eat instead, and you'll be fine.
