Who knows effective selfdefense techniques for people with one arm disability? One of my students has right arm disability, his palm and forearm are paralyzed. I am concentrating on briliant footwork and kicking techniques for him also straight punch and finger jab, any advices and suggestions? Thanks

Believe it or not, there is a Chinese martial arts movie about that very subject, involving two martial artists who are missing arms or legs. I have a very bad DVD copy of it at home, think it's called "Crippled Masters".

It is really called "Crippled Masters"!
My copy of it was a 'bonus' in another DVD dollection. But a there is an Amazon page for it as well, so maybe you can find it separately. Might give you some ideas, because one of the guys has no legs, and the other has no arms.

Can he still use his elbows for striking? If so, google the Urijah Faber vs. Mike Brown 2 fight video. Faber broke both of his hands fairly early in that match, and compensated by using his elbows for striking. You may get some ideas from that. Really incredible heart and brains! Wing Chun has some great uses of elbows for defense (bong sau), so check that out as well.
Good luck.

Check out The Chi Sao Practice of Wing Chun, commonly reffered to as "Sticky Hands" Theres excellent work for defense and creating openings for use with one arm. Also , besides footwork which is always a good idea, work on feinting and baiting.

Don chi sao is good suggestion, we already tried some variations, it really works. I noticed that it gives him more fluidity, awareness of what he is capable of and selfconfidence.
We already made some experimentations with knees and elbows, he can attack groin area well and make use of his left elbow, however use of right elbow is limitted, because of his condition.
We also found that biu gee against hook, uppercut, overhead works well, as well as jeet tek with biu gee or straight punch. Suplement for right hand parry or block, became footwork and some of evasive tactics.
