If you have not yet found your local digital purveyor of world television, this is a good reason to do so -- there is a live sparring kung fu show on Chinese television.

Called "Wushu Masters", it features match-ups between various wushu styles in live competition. Usually there are two styles per show, and the various fighters are interviewed. Usually a master of the style will give a repeated demonstration of a move from the style so that the viewers can learn it.

There is no need to speak Chinese, because even though the show is completely untranslated, the graphics pretty much explain it all. I managed to learn that a wushu style called 'praying mantis' was invented by a young girl without understanding a word of it.

This show tends to appear in my area (East Coast) on early Saturday night or Sunday mornings. I hope others can find it as well.
