Yesterday I went to a Sambo seminar at South Hills Judo in Pittsburgh. It was taught by Stephen Koepfer the chairman for the American Sambo Association. I was basically 4 hours of joy. Topics covered were: Grip fighting, throws, arm locks, chokes, leg locks and no gi work. I loved it so much and can't believe I learned so much in such a short time.
We started with grip and takedown work. Setting up our throws so we can transition directly to a submission. Everything flowed so perfectly I felt like I had know the techniques for years.
We also, cover the casting punch which was a lot easier then I thought it would be. I love this technique you just have to make sure not to roll your shoulder so you don't hurt yourself. You can also do it with your palm or the blade of your hand.
