I've noticed some MT practitioners using boxing gloves that appear to be lighter weight (12 oz?) and do not have a connection between the thumb and rest of the glove, IE the thumb moves freely. Is this a special kind of glove, or do they just cut the thumb piece?
thx.

You can buy them without the connector, or you can just cut it, but I think you were looking at heavy bag gloves? if you saw them fighting that may just be the allocated glove for the competition

I recommend bag gloves that produce under Thailand brand such as TOP KING, TWINS, Fairtex. They have bag gloves in full thumb and open thump for you select it
