As many of you know I have personal and professional issues with the MISUSE of contracts in MA.
A buddy of mine just e-mailed me another area that might offer some help with people stuck with/in contracts that are no longer getting what they paid for.
Many contracts---"many" but certainly not all, are signed by the owner/often the head instructor, thing is that often the head guy/gal hands students off to OTHER teachers.....people needing the teaching time to qualify for their next ranking......etc.
Thing is that those people are generally NOT named on the contract nor do many of them have verbage that would include handing you off to someone else for teaching.
So its at least often argueable that you signed a contract to be taught by the Head Guy/Gal you DID NOT sign a contract to be taught by some flunkie with far LESS experience and rank than the person whom signed you up.
You signed up to be taught by THAT person...and if they are NOT teaching you...then a case can be made for getting out of the contract.
Might provide an avenue for somebody to get some relief.
Also, read the contract VERY throughly---if they have verbage which allows you be taught by pretty much just anybody the head person appoints----then I recommed that you don't sign.
Actually I recommed you don't sign a contract in pretty much any case.
