it looks like your average family-friendly karate/kobudo solo form tourny.

Have to agree with Ed. What do you see that we're not seeing? Honest question. The first video seemed kind of mediocre.

Harlan will obviously speak up, one hopes? "Average", not by a long shot IMHV-fwiw, and here is why.

The first kata listed did not possess a single speck of dopey melodrama.

It was fluid, not staccado <sp.?>

And while some of the movements were "stylized" (ie style specific distance between feet) structurally it looked well done and in tact to me at least .

Toss in the uniform she wore lacked any kind of grotesque advertising...

IMO, on those basis Harlan is dead right... it is special in a spooky way! Something rare...

All of those Kobudo videos were performed by people with down syndrome you silly gringos. That's what makes it special.
