Interesting, but Jim, you have seen such kata from the Matsumora/Kodatsu line before. Nagamine's Passai, Wanshu, Wankan, and Rohai were taught to him from Kodatsu and his Naihanchi from Chojin Kuba(a student of Kodatsu as well). However, I have never seen a "dai" version of kata independent of Itosu so that makes me wonder why the wansu was labeled as dai. However, the Naihanchi Sandan does further support the theory that there is a line of Naihanchi kata other than Naihanchi Shodan independent of Itosu from Uku Giko. In fact, this Naihanchi Sandan is very close to that of Nagamine.
