Unfortunately the Olympics is whatever the International Olympic Committee says it is, and when a country ponies up what Billions of Dollars (or the equivalent) or so to host them, in turn guess who calls the shots.

Similarily some of the events were held in the night because of what NBC put up to carry the show, and in turn made some demands on the IOC too.

Is it right, fair or just. Of course not, it's just the Olympics, nothing more. Nothing new either.

China just declares her age 16, how can anyone really argue with a government who controls all the records, people, etc.

The IOC has wiped their hands clean, and it's likely to go nowhere, no matter what anyone else thinks.
