Guys, you better answer his googling stuff-inspired questions, he weighs more than you. What does your weight have to do with this anyway Jude?
To answer the question that was given about heavy sparring
Quote:
Just to clarify a few things on your post: You use gloves for light sparring, but not for heavy sparring? Is this correct?
Watching this thread like a hawk now, I guess at least I have to credit you for making things interesting sometimes Jude33....lol
I am glad about that because with all due respect I have read back through your posts and I dont think you have any expereince of
(A) Much form of contact or live training (B) Have ever sparred other than extremely light. (c) Much of an idea about S/D. Or the question you are asked such as the scenario in a bar are not answered.
I am afraid others are of the same opinion . There is nothing wrong with that, it is your choice.

I tried to persuade myself not to engage in conversation with you,
Creative with all due respect I somehow get the feeling that you might be a begginer at training. Nothing wrong with that. We are all here to learn I asked a question about the duck under? No response. I asked a question about your body weight which I think is relevent to sparring methods? No response. I asked for reference to wrestling in the Preston area? No response.
Your response to judo? as stand up wrestling?
yes well ok.

But we can't go through every factor which might be effective for the sakes of Judes continuous randomness.
Jude might on occasion be random but I am working on it. Regards the body weight factor.
A full spar or even a technique spar in boxing particular with heavyweights ( the reason why I asked for your bodyweight and gave mine) could mean the use of very heavy sparring gloves (pillows they were/are refered to as) ,head guards, gum shield, body protecters and groin protecters,
So how do you see heavyweights in MMA's sparring stand up?
Can I ask which boxing gym's are you refering to creative?
So if that is the case about your experience then can I ask where you do you have the experience from to decide about something like kata?

20 pages....wow. Hope you guys have time left over to actually train.
Who freakin' CARES if a person uses kata or not? Think about it guys? Admittedly, I used to try and "save the world" from kata, lol. Now I honestly don't give a big fat rat's ass about it one way or the other. And the reason I don't is because I can only worry about ME, not 6 billion other [censored] (ok, and a few others).
John
Some time on your grappling threads you had some realy good discussions going about the methods used. It would be great if you could start a new one.

jude, How would anyone answering those questions contribute to this thread? What do any of those questions have to do with anything here? BTW, quit assuming everyone is a beginner and has no SD or sparring experience just because they don't take the time to answer your silly questions!

I would like to think more than likely about the same contribution as your posting of
Quote:
Herein lies my problem with you. You have no idea how I train, but because I train in American Goju it just can't be as good as th3 d34dly Okinawan karate of Arizona. You bring this up in every thread about pure styles and the differences that you believe. I'm not buying it
Just a point could I ask what exactly is American goju and how is striking trained and what work is done on the kata? How involved is the exploration of kata? Just to bring that on topic if there isn’t much on either( and I dont know if there is or there isnt) then how can a comparison from the input of karate to MMA be made? How do you train? And could I ask what does being taller have anything to do with the thread?

It seems you and others incorrectly assume things then blame others for my postings. And I would like to think about the same amount of use as your quote of
Quote:
I feign stupidity so that you can comprehend my posts.
I tend not to be judgemental on that topic.

Well I took the time to answer yours and I don’t think mine were silly. Practical and technical input required perhaps that sometimes isn’t supplied for what ever reason, but not silly.
I think some one else asked this question Quote from someone else on the thread

Are you still taking your meds?
You see I try to answer nearly all of the questions asked of me.

LOL.

I'm taller than you,so your arguments just don't wash,lol.
That was Brians quote of being taller not mine.
Anyhow I have reached a conclusion. I think elements of karate can be used in MMA. As to what extent might be dependent on the knowledge of the karate ka.
Those who can use it fine. Those who dont thats fine. Those that argue with out knowing then maybe they need to study.
Me I am just a mere inferior student still learning.
