One of the reason I am done with Dillman, was the video where he has trained a 13 year old to harness Chi and project it toward a target.

It takes years to understand and manipulate Chi and he has a 13 yr. old Black belt playing these games instead of perfecting his basics skills and developing his mind so he can learn to use this in application.

I also was amused at the behind sheet Ko, and that he states that he can sway or move crowds of people standin in line with his mind.

Master G. Dillman once a very good Martial artist, the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Chi exist but not like that, I really liked it when his top assistance tried the NTKO on a weak reporter and it didn't work after KOing a 245lb black belt student.

13 year old forming and project a Chi ball, Chi ball period outside the body, Chi does flow inside the body via the ancient application of PP strikes & holds, accurpunture and healing massage.

Would anyone like to list the other 999 reasons to be "done with Dillman"?

As long as you are done with Dillman, that's all that really matters. Just be happy you are astute enough to WANT to be done with him!

Here's the best George Dillman clip EVER:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7DHzZvCIWo

From the Nat Geo show "Is it real?" Two Italian scientists go up against one of Dillmans 8th dan black belts, who attempts a no touch knock out. See for yourself what happens.

Dillmans explanation is the best part of the whole thing. None too sure if this clip has been on before, but it is alway worth a chuckle!

I have Dillman's books and all of his video's pre the ntko crap.

I actually thought his pressure point stuff was well thought out and applicable in certain situations.(using pp's to control, numb, etc) Never did I see anything he claims to be able to do done in real time or against someone that wasn't his student. Then along came the chi-ball crap. I'm done with it, it's just wacko, he has officially lost his marbles.

I remember when he first came out with his dim mak stuff, Dillman was virtually a "must see" on the seminar circuit. On the other hand, so many others were jumping on the same bandwagon it was hard to figure out who was copying who.

Needless to say I resisted the "temptation" to go to his seminar when he came to town. However I did go to another controversial practitioner's seminar and noted how much nonsense went along with dim mak. I was told how you have to hit the points in a particular sequence, then just a light "feather touch" would knock the person out. It was demonstrated, of course, on a willing student of the instructor - I really wanted him to pick me!

As a student of the internal arts, I find it misleading to put Dillman or any other quack artist into this category. The internal arts are taiji, bagua and xingyi (and some related arts such as liu he ba fa and yi quan). They are, in the main, no-nonsense technically oriented arts. You don't need to mention chi/ki once if you don't want to.

Without wishing to enter into a debate about chi/ki, my point is that what unites these arts is a common approach and technical base. People are mistaken if they put "new age" fads into the same basket. Nor are arts such as aikido "internal arts" - they don't have the same technical base or approach. I'm not saying anything derogatory about aikido, merely noting that the category "internal arts" is as well delineated (and identifiable) as, say, karate. And Dillman's material is not internal.

Here it is, proof chi exists and can be used in a combat situation. It would have been devistating if he hadn't missed.

I've been done with dillman since the moment I saw him. He makes a mockery to those of us who actually take a serious interest in Traditional martial arts. On a similar note, isn't it funny how ALL the charlatans are the ones that make the most money? I think they actually believe their own lies. WKK of Wahnam claims they can disperse clouds with chi and cosmos palm will kill someone.

Many charlatans have some decent info to contribute, and perhaps even practice alot. but unfortunately what they choose to publicized my be misguided, malinformed, or just rubbush.

First it was the "Secret Soken Scroll", then he taught Muhammad Ali his jab, then he went to a couple of Oyata seminars and stole that-I remember the article in I believe Black Belt where Oyata said that Dillman attended a few seminar........
He just never quits.

What made me drop out of DKI wasn't so much the no-touch junk, as my personal experiences I and others with the man.

What totally dropped me was when a blue-belt friend of mine who was DKI had gone to a seminar with Dillman and the ensuing "what the ****?" that happend afterwards.

The fellow had a sensei who was a higher-up amongst Dillman people and thus was able to have dinner with Dillman and the usual post-seminar group. After all was over and everyone was leaving, predictably the BB's took their turns saying goodbye to everyone including Dillman. But, when it was my blue-belt friend's turn to say goodbye to Dillman the man shrugged my friend off. It wasn't like he came up behind him or something. He walked up to Dillman with his hand out for a handshake and Dillman just pulled back and said "No, no, it's okay. really." before my friend could so much as try to reply/inquire. Worse yet, most of the BB's around him and his sensei who got him in to be able to hang out with "master" had the same look on their faces equal to "Just listen to him about that."

You pay 80 + $ to a guy and spend your afternoon/evening at hsi seminar and he won't even shake your hand for a moment afterwards, my friend said with a bit of a grumble as he recounted the story to me.

Yikes, I'd say.

What sucks indeed to me, is that like others mentioend not ALL of the DKI stuff was crock and bull. I still look back on much of my old Kyusho material for grappling/trapping work and have still found it to work pretty well.

Cryin' shame everyone had to get all crazy about teh "Chi powerz". I mean, my old sensei used to be able to do something INTERESTING things that I and others felt, but too bad we never got to learn what it was.

Eh. JKD/FMA serves me well, so no major loss I guess.

He was probably afraid that you were pushing one big toe down or had your tongue on the roof of your mouth so that when you shook hands you would short circuit his ki/chi and he would explode in a large cloud of BS.

I expect what you experienced was just old style karate.

Anyone not a senior black belt doesn't really matter. Not meant as a personal slight, just a reality that many Seniors in Dillman's era lived, and it seems still do.

That doesn't describe all of them, but I've seen enough of it to know it does exist, either that or perhaps he had indigestion ?

I've always felt the reasong George went after Chi power is that once he successfully ripped off a concept from Oyata Sensei and many saw how he did it and then did it to him, he was trying to find a way to move into something new to set him apart again.

He didn't creat no-touch, it's been around for a very long time, he just lent himself to dramatic demonstrations that it doesn't seem to have the slighest merit....
