Okay let us communicate about your art if we may...

http://digsfossils.com/karate.html

Here is the website for your art. I notice Mr Pluchino is a member of the World Head of Family Sokeship Council Member... hmmmm... here are some threads on here about the "Council" and some of its members:

http://www.fightingarts.com/ubbthreads/s...ue#Post15981345

Your teacher talks about having "30 years of experience", yet his actual credentials relating to martial arts are pretty thin on the ground. Oh wait, except for "Samauri Jiu Jitsu". WTF????? Do you mind telling me what that is suppose to be?

Is this another Samauri fantasist pretending to be teaching the warrior arts of ancient Japan without actually knowing the first thing about them? What knowledge of Koryu does he actually have? What is it you actually learn?

I'm sorry to sound harsh but it seems your teachers Ju Jutsu credentials are dubious to say the least. Traditional Japanese Ju Jutsu is incredibly hard to find in the Western world. Read this thread:

http://www.fightingarts.com/ubbthreads/s...=0#Post15981165

If you enjoy doing what you are doing, keep at it. I wouldn't go within a mile of Mr Pluchino's class though based on his website. Each to their own, as they say.

actually that site was made by a friend of his whom i do not know if still in contact and it is outdated slightly. He was taught by his sensei in Staton Island then slowly became a grandmaster or Red Belt and started Seikei Ryu Jiu Jitsu. That other art was His Sensei's art. My sensei renamed it fitting to what he was teaching.
Seikei - Balancing the central meridians
Ryu - Art

See here's the thing; "Samauri Jiu Jitsu" isn't a style. Some examples of Classical/Traditional Japanese Martial arts are:

Kito Ryu
Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu
Shindo Yoshin-ryū
Musō Jikiden Eishin-ryū

Traditional Japanes arts that all have a history an lineage going back for centuries. "Samuari Jiu Jitsu" doesn't. It sounds like a bit of made-up jitsu.

Just because someone tells you they are teaching Ju Jutsu and it isn't BJJ doesn't mean it is Japanese Ju Jutsu by default. Other than your teacher telling you its "Samuari Jiu Jitsu" why would you think it is traditional JJ?

People like Robert Clarke of the World Jiu Jitsu Fedeartion have been passing off a mish mash of kickboxing/combatitives(such as Krav Maga)/judo as traditional Japanese Ju Jutsu (koryu) for years purely for marketing reasons.

Someone showing you how to do a hip throw they learnt in a freestlye wrestling class and a bad lapel release they learnt at a McDojo Karate club and calling it "Jiu Jitsu" doesn't mean it is a classical Japanese Martial art, you follow?

There is nothing on that website indicating he ever studieid trad JJ. He can call it what he likes. If he wants to offer proof of his study of traditional koryu then I'd be happy to acknowledge it. More than happy.

Otherwise lets call a spade a spade.
