Hyakuhachiho

is supposedly a shotokan kata... I have never heard of or seen this kata before until I accidentally found it on youtube...

Anyone know where the hell this kata came from. It looks to me like a form of Suparinpei, but still I have never seen it with a shotokan label.

I think Kanazawa imported it into his style of Shotokan.

Hmmm.. Thats interesting. I wonder if my karate teacher would like that very much... It would be fun to learn and just put it in my little bag of tricks. I have always been curious with that family of katas...

Do you think many shotokan clubs will pick this kata up?

Any other katas that get imported to shotokan recently?

new kata....im always a bit taken back by additions to a system. i think i remember reading somewhere that kanazawa sensei learned the kata "years ago" and now has it out on dvd.
