I'm not even sure its my kidney that hurts. Last night while sparring we paired up and my partner accidentally caught me with a spinning back kick to my lower back, right between my rib cage and the small of my back. It was the very end of class, but I felt all my energy drain and my back stiffened immediately to the point where I could barely shift my weight for anything but a straight front kick.

It got increasingly stiff and sensitive to twisting my body all night. The pain seems deeper than a muscle, but maybe I'm imagining things. Seems better today, and there's no blood in my urine... anybody have experience with getting hit there?

I've been kicked in the kidney all of one time over the years, I remember it hurting bad enough that I stopped and needed a break for a few minutes.. Was the pain that bad?

My guess is if not you took a nice charlie horse to the QL's or something, so maybe some lower back pain for a bit, hopefully you're young enough to recover fully?

Keep us updated and if it's warranted, see a doctor!

Right when I got kicked, it didn't hurt all that bad. Just got stiff fast. I had a rough time that night, earlier I had caught a round house to the chin from a very large sparring partner. I guess my guard needs work! ;-)

It still hurts today, but it gets a little less intense each day. I'm 30 and in pretty good shape, so I think I'll be ok.

I don't have any pain or stiffness in my lower back muscles.. its beneath them. Have done some reading and talking to people.. textbook mild kidney bruising symptoms.
