How do you guys train your sticks in your dojo? We don't much sombrada drill or anything like it any more. We mostly learn to swing for power, practice the major functional defenses in an alive environment, and then go straight to banging each other with semi-padded weapons.

How do you guys train?

Pretty much the same, or maybe skip the weapons padding if you have hand & head gear and can pair up a newbie with someone experienced.
