I prefer regular bows. We had a month long session in gym two years ago which was entirely archery. I only got maybe three bulleyes, whilst barry, the high scorer, got 12

Sai and Kama are missing, both of which I regularly train with. Escrima and bo deserve separate billing, as they are truly not related.

I never was a fan of nunchaku, How do you stop it when you swing it?

Of all of these my favorites are the Rope Dart, Chinese Broad Sword and Sai.
I have forms/katas for:
Bo Staff, Escrima/Kali Sticks, Spear, Japanese Sword, Chinese Broad Sword, Hook Swords, Sai and Nunchaku.
I have a working knowledge of:
Kung Fu Fans, Tunfa, Kamas, Butterfly Swords, Chan Whip and Rope Dart.
I own but haven't had time (or inspiration) to work with:
3 Sectional Staff, Judge Brush Pens and Emei Piercers/Needles.
Would love to own and work with:
Guan Dao, Monk Spade, Butterfly Wing Sword, Bullwhip, Meteor Hammer, Straight/Tai Chi Sword and several more.
As far as stopping nunchaku you stop them on your body using the chain as the impact point. If done correctly you feel no discomfort and you're immediately ready for another swing. You can also stop them without letting it contact you by gradually (yet quickly) slowing them down so that tension is kept on the chain at all times. It's just something you have to get a feel for.

I thought a cicada was a large and loud fly. oooo I like that. Not my type of thing if I ever got into that sort of WMA (weapon martial arts) but cool looking None the less.

I like longswords, warhammers (real ones, not the kind in WoW). I am also partial to short blades (knives and daggers) Oh, and lets not forget my number one weapon...the firearm

I've gotten really fond of nunchaku since the style I do uses them held arms-length out. No slapping them around your body or behind your back. It's much easier to control the motion and power by rotating your body than just using your arms.
A nunchaku is basically dead after it makes contact, though. Try it on a bag or better yet a target made from a tied-up rope and you will see. That's why we use a pair in each hand, so at least you get two good hits in one attack.
Other fun uses are thrusting into an opponent by holding one half in each hand and using the rope to trap and crush wrists and necks. They probably aren't so great against other weapons, though unless you have really good aim and can take out the weapon-holding hand.
