Well it looks like the National Geographic Channel is jumping on the Martial Arts programs bandwagon. Their show, "Fight Science", premiers on January 27th with 2 shows: MMA at 8 PM and Special Ops at 9 PM. This looks like it is going to have alot of the computer graphic explanations that Human Weapon has, along with demo's and training methods. Take a peek at: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/fightscience/VDJ

Hopefully they'll put a little more "science" into it this time around.
Example: Last time, they wanted to determine which martial art had the hardest punch. Western Boxing was determined the winner.
Of course, their entire sample group consisted of one practitioner of each art. The boxer was a heavyweight, while the the Kung Fu guy was about 120 lbs, dripping wet with rocks in his pockets.
They spent about a quarter of the program looking at strikes, then spent the rest of the show detailing anachronistic weapons.

Chris Caille, you missed the boat! Right now some of us could be guest-starring on "Fighting Arts", the TV show.

that's the danger when you blur science with entertainment.

I don't know about that. These things are just really starting to pop up all over the place. I guess you could say it's just starting to pull away from the dock. Of course there's always radio

I saw the last fight science that aired. It was entertaining but left a lot to be desired I thought.

This has been on before? They are advertising it as a "Premier". To me that means first showing. What was the episode you saw?

That the way I remember it & was my complaint as well. If you are doing science, all factor or variables have to be controlled for except the one you are trying to prove or disprove makes a difference. Maybe a better way to do it, is to take regular people & have them punch the different ways to test which one is stronger or produces more force.

I saw it too originally, it was a hour or two, one shot show that I felt was pretty deficient with regards to methods and execution. They had people that may or may not have been completely qualified to do all that they did. No offense but they had a Taekwondo guy swinging a katana, I would have preferred someone with more qualified technical knowledge. This one seems to be more focused with each episodes focusing on a certain aspect of the martial arts. So it seems to be a premiere for the new scheduling format.
