Watch the running at your 'ripe old age' lol. I'm getting up there myself sir, and find that 2 or 3 hard 'fights' on the bag (full power, full timed rounds, as many rounds as you could do in a fight) can take the place of at least half of my road work, and teach me to economize my movements (like the high reps in M.T.) giving the same effect as alot of road work by using less energy.
