But seriously, JM2007 is absolutely right, I should have had the door locked in the first place. I guess the reason I didn't is that my neighborhood is mostly seniors except for the one place next door, and the cops usually visit them quietly and leave. I never expected someone to come into MY place uninvited, and my naivete (or however you spell it) could have cost me big time. But fortunately, the lesson was learned, and the door is now locked every night.
