When I used to have a trainer for basketball/weightlifting, a couple exercises he would have me do would be to jump from the floor, onto an aerobic step(w/e u call them) and then back. And sometimes I would have light dumbbells in my hands and do them, with a smaller step, of course. This was for explosive power, which is essential for basketball, to jump high and board some rebounds. Another exercise would be to jump up and touch the ceiling or backboard of a net, then immediately reset and jump again (jump squats?). I would only recommend doing them if you're trying to jump higher, or else theres not really much of a point to them.
It's not because I can, but because you couldn't if you tried.
