Does anyone know about this style, Hakutsuru Fukasa-Ryu Karate or "Profound White Crane Empty-Handed Art". It is supposed to have a lot of Crane in it and it is from Okinawa(maybe it is more like Crane Kung Fu) . I was thinking it is related to Go Ju Ryu, but just finding out about the style, I heard they don't do Sanchin (which I believe is a core Go Ju Ryu Kata). Well if anyone knows what the style is like, please let me know.

sounds like a shorin ryu derivative to me,

any idea on who teaches the art in Okinawa ? Or perhaps the head of the system in USA ?

I'd suggest such questions as you're posting belong more appropriately in a google search.

Having read through what I see there, it is just another 'Soke' system somebody personally threw together. I challenge 25 year students becoming 'Soke' simply because I'm a 35 years student who has seen too much.

I have yet to see any evidence, outside of the Matayoshi lineage Hakutsuru training and a few other Japanese/Okinwawan instructors, there is any martial value to any of the other Hakutsuru running around.

Lots of talk, but no evidence.

It is probable that this group hasn't been around too long and that would make it hard to prove it's worth.

Good luck on your search.

It seems like the head of the style is in the USA. Looking at the web site, it is something that the head Stoke came up with the system in 2000. Does not have anything on what is background is.
