Apologies, then. Haven't had my second cup of coffee and a little sleepy still.

But...why mention posts from a 'closed' forum that no one can access?

All they have to do is sign up just like you did and they can access those threads.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, members can't use the moderation staff as a defensive tactic or shield.

I may be a little slow on the uptake but you kind of lost me here?

I left you a little love note over there by the way.

And once again here.

Why so cryptic?

Those threads that state what?
Am I missing something here?

I detect a bit of animosity but I am not sure why. Have I crossed some boundary?
I merely stated they were interesting threads and didn't chose a side in that discussion.

Oh, by the way, my real name is Dan Peterson

Hi Dan, no animosity. since you were pointing out that Mr. McCarthy can't use the mods here to sheild off criticism/questioning - I was pointing out that is only one aspect of this forum. The other aspect being you can say what you want and be anonymous as it's own form protection.

now that you've given your name, all is cool. but you do see the hypocritical nature of your initial comment, do you not?

Well as a matter of fact I wasn’t pointing to Mr. McCarthy at all since the situation is the same for everyone on that board.

Most of the members I see on here don’t post their real names. I am wondering wht I am so special that I was asked to explain who I am.

Not hypocritical at all for the reason I mentioned above.

Yes, apparently Mr. McCarthy decided to use this thread to mention another forum and slag off on some of the folks I know there.
I just gave some specific threads so that folks might understand a bit better.

So back on topic:

Is Karate less effective because it covers too much and tries to accomplish too much?

Depends on the style I guess. Depends on what you actually do in that style.

If a coach or Instructor taught just fighting would it be more accepted as a effective Combat system?

What part of karate is not geared toward some aspect of fighting?

Kata?

No, No, No, please forget I said that; this thread is already monstrous enough.
