Thursday 11/8/07 Kungfu Class 7-9
-warm up -Short form of the Tiger (good) -Movements of the Tiger (1 mistake) -Tension Form (forgot a lot) -Bo Form (forgot a lot but I picked it up at the end) (Now that I am back I am going to get all these good again. Just going to take a couple days to get back on track.) -Sparred (Preston: college, shorter than me, stronger) Tried working on my defense tonight. Saw the moves coming so I blocked most of them. Got better at moving side to side then back and forth. Next time we spar I am going to work this again. -Partner Drills -Dragon block- they throw a punch and we used a dragon block (kind of a loose circular motion block) to go into a punch -Double Dragon block- threw two punches and we did the same thing but with two blocks. -Dragon block against Roundhouse punch -Dragon block against kick- grab the kick, dragon block/swing the foot toward them and around, come in with attacks

Hey man whats up. I have a question. Have you ever been into a real fight? or have you ever sparred full contact with a real Karate, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, muay thai practitioner at all? I'm asking because im intrigue on how many of those techniques really work in a real situation. Don't take it the wrong way im not here to discredit your training, Art or anything like that. I'm not here to judge you. I ask because you seem to train alot and i was wondering if it's paying off. you mentioned that you don;t need to sparr because you are good at it but Sparring should be a regular routine in order for you to really express yourself and learn how to relax and find out what techniques work and dont work(nobody is ever good enough at sparring). Because trust me in a real situation the first thing you gunna do is make a fist and forget about everyother hand technique you've practiced. It just human nature. Bow out with respect from a Bagua Zhang/Taekwondo/jujitsu/judo martialist.

Hi,
Did I say I dont have to spar? Haha sorry I must have meant to write something else. I love sparring, we spar almost every class at my school. No I have never gotten in a real fight. I have sparred full contact though, we do at my school. I think I wrote about sparring one of my fellow students who did competition in Muay Thai in Thailand. Most of the things I practice are just simple techniques that I try and get perfect, so if I do get into a fight I can atleast have those naturally.

Thursday 11/15/07 Kungfu Class (2 hours)
-warm up 15 minutes -sparring 30 minutes I sparred Bryan. If you remember my post from last time I sparred him, I got my a$$ kicked. Last night, I got my a$$ kicked less. I did a lot better defending his attacks and not backing up. I had good counters as well as fairly good attacks (just have to stay in a good guard when i move in). He knocked me to the ground a few times though (on the concrete). Finally got blood on my belt! -self defenses 1 hour -wrist locks -against grabs, punches -foot locks -against kicks -2 different types of foot locks but both brought them to the ground

Monday @ Home
-Twisting Tiger -Bo Form
-practiced my punching power on my Bob dummy. I worked on technique the most. I made sure I twisted my hips, kept my elbow straight for power. I also directed my energy to my fist and tried delivering it to the dummy (yes I believe this can work). The technique worked and I knoncked down the dummy each time.

Saturday Kungfu Class 11:30- 12:30
-Warm up -Finished learning Twist of the Tiger -Practiced Short form of the Tiger, Movements of the Tiger, and Twist of the Tiger -Bo Form
I threw up in class today, so that wasnt good. But afterwards I felt a lot better. I am done with Saturday classes though, because of this. I think its to early for me and I either prepare too much or not enough, so it doesnt end up right.

Monday 5:00- 6:40
-Warm up -Workout (increased machine benching weight 15 pounds) -Stretched/Ab workout -Self defenses (20 minutes) -went over all my daily dozen self defenses -Twist of the Tiger -Bag Work -took some of your guys advices and worked on anything I could think of for about 15 minutes on the bag.
As you can see I am working on a lot of my new form, Twist of the Tiger. I want to perfect this form and add speed to it. Then go back and make all these 3 forms (short form, movements, twist) as good as I can.
