You know the fights are going to be light sparring; but, that is OK. I like the history on each.

Does anyone know which styles the big guy is going to fight in?

I know sumo.
Not sure what else though.

I saw the Muay-Thai series it was informative. It was interesting that the more Trad MT (like ler drit) concentrates on quickly dispacching its opponents. It was also interesting that the sport version of MT thought that some of the techniques of the Trad system was too slow to use in the ring.

In turn the Trad version felt that the ring version was just fluff, and was mere shadow of us, they would say.

I also thought that the Trad version looked alot like dare I say, Karate it even included some breaking. The weapons looked alot like Okinawan weapons less diverse then Silat or Bando.

The series feature two men one a pretty good MMA exponent and a Big ex-Footplayer and ex-wrestler.

Can't wait for the Karate series. They train in the various versions of the art, then fight a skilled representative of that disclipine.

I guess the Islands are so close. Interesting.

I thought the firest 2 episodes were pretty darn good, and have often wondered why a MA series investigating a style a week was never on, what with all the channels on cable.

Ironfoot, I've been wondering the same thing.

I'm actually impressed by the show. They talk about experience in other areas, and then move through different types of training in a particular set of styles. They also do a thorough job, considering that they only have a one hour slot to fill.

I know, we'd be making good money right now. Although, I'd have to take a salary cap, because if I'm going to be separated from military service, I have to be worth at least 50 mil.

Great show but the repeated massacre of common karate terms was nearly unbearable. They were much more brutal to the pronunciation of Japanese than the karateka on the mat. These two fellows really have a dream job.

great to see that the big fellow finally got a turn on the matt, and he fought the guy to a draw! But he probably couldnt walk to well after the match, his legs were battered
