The previews showed lots of Japanese training and bare fisted sparring and some breaking. The show is great and I would highly recomend watching all the series.

I liked watching the Eskrima since it is new to me. It was better than last week in my opinion.

Well I would say the fight was definitley better than last week. I think that the way that they showed all the different "versions" of the art was consistent with the MT episode. For those that missed it, I believe it will air again this evening at 6 P.M. E.D.T. on the History channel. Back to Back episodes (I don't know if that means the same episode twice or bothe the MT and Eskrima episodes). As they say in the T.V. industry, "Check your local listings".

I have a couple of episodes on TIVO, but my wife is MA-ed out at the moment, so finding time to watch them is less than easy.

I keep missing it - friday nights are movie nights for me. This may not catch anyone's fancy, but does anyone have a link to the episodes online?

oh thats just the re-run
its on fridays at 10
a little inconvenient when you want to go out on a Friday night

I saw the Escrima episode today. I thought it was pretty good. I like how they covered like the different aspects and kinds of Filipino stick fighting, though I was a bit surprised that Modern Arnis wasnt mentioned. And this time the fight seemed better than the MT one last week, it was just more real.

So far so good for the series, I like the mini history lesson on the art too (thus the history channel).

My only problem was that the majority of escrima shown was of the Doce Pares system. Years ago, I trained in Richard Bustillio's system (IMB) & really liked it. Then, @ the beginning of the year, I tried DP & was a bit disapointed.

Question: They said that they sparred w/ steel wrapped in light padding...rebar? I really doubt that. It would be too heavy to manipulate like they were doing & too dangerous. Any ideas?

BTW: The football guy said inh an interview that he enjoyed the doing Karate episode the most.
