Human Weapon Series

I just caught the tail end of a commercial on cable (I think it's on the A&E channel) for a show that is going to premier on July 20th. It's called "The Human Weapon". The premier is going to hi-light Eskrima. I'm guessing that they are going to take turns at different arts every week. Is anybody familiar with this program or have any additional info ?
Thanks,
VDJ

no additional info...I know I'll be sucked-into watching it, with a high probability of being disappointed. - based on previous recent programs like 'deadly arts', 'the science of martial arts', 'final fu' and 'Mind, Body & Kick Ass Moves'. have to keep an open mind though, right? maybe this one will be good....

You left out Xtreme Martial Arts. There is a correction though. It will air on the HISTORY channel, not A&E. I saw the commercial for it again after I logged off!

I does look pretty good. They're investigating rather than showing off.

O.K. It wasn't to bad. Much better than the silly XMA thing they did a couple of years ago. I like the way they showed the history of MT and the different versions of it. I love seeing the way that it is trained in its homeland (it would be nice to have some schools here that are as intense). I felt the fight at the end was a little soft though. They have me interested enough to watch again next week. I didn't see what art they were going to be doing though, I think maybe Eskrima (though I thought that was the art they were supposed to do tonite). What are everybody elses thoughts ?

I liked the CGI effects that showed some of the physics involved with certain techniques. I look forward to seeing soemthing like that with the karate and weapons shows.

yea I liked the angle they approached this show from. How they investigate and study and learn about the arts they visit. It was definitely different from Mind, Body, & Kickass Moves, which shows this show is coming from a different perspective than others. I also liked how they first introduced it in sport context and then expanded it back to its roots and its more "real" aspect (the damaging and killing one).
I do agree that the fight at the end looked weak. Especially on the foreigner's part, all his hits looked so slow and like he was sparring and not out the "destroy" the opponent like they described MT.
As for the hosts...I dont get the football/wrestler dude...doesnt look like he has much MA experience at all, obviously putting him at a disadvantages in these challenges. While the small guy is an MMA fighter seeming to make him more adept at learning these techniques they gather. It was pretty obvious when they showed them doing a kneeing combo. Lets see if the football man can make it up in the next one.
Can't wait till next weeks, though I wish they could've picked a better time to air it. I mean FRIDAY nights at 10pm! Such a vital time for a young'n like me (I'm sure for you old guys and inbetween guys too).
