Anyone recommend anything they've read recently? Also, anyone know what site gives good book reviews? Most sites have bestseller lists, but I don't think anything is good just because supposedly a bunch of people bought it.

I finally got around to reading House of Leaves, and will have to give it a reread to pick up on certain parts that I sorta lagged through.

Any kind of book? I've read Angela's Ashes, 'Tis, Teacherman, A Monk Swimming, White Oleander, Storekeeper's Daughter and am about to start Quilter's Daughter (sequel to Storekeeper's Daughter). I think they are good books. I'll let you know if I can think of anyothers.

Amazon.com will suggest books based on what YOU say you like.

I've recently read some of Vince Flynn's stuff. Memorial Day and Consent to Kill were pretty good.

My favorite book of all time has to be Charm School by DeMille, but Clancy would be my favorite author.

Meh, just wanted a thread for people to post what they've been reading lately, since in the asian culture forum there is a similiar thread.

Most everything I have rad recently has been either textbook or research journal article. I did read an interesting book written from the perspective of a child with Asperger's syndrome (autism) that I found suprisingly enjoyable. It is called "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time"

Saisho my older sister has Asperger's syndrome so I'd like to read that book. That will be the next on my list after the series I'm reading now.

Steven King's "The Dark Tower/The Gunslinger" series. His best stuff, IMHO. All Quiet on the Western Front, The Metamorphosis, The Call of the Wild, The Tell Tale Heart (anything by Poe, really), A Brief History of Time, The Inferno, Aesop's fables.....that's all I got for now.
