Anybody that enjoys historical films should enjoy "Kingdom of Heaven". It's a "crusades era" flick about the conflict over Jerusalem, and very well acted. It's been out a while, but well worth watching... if for nothing else, the battle scenes and tactics visuals of the era.

I saw it on release. Its OK, but I think considering the modern day situation in the middle east, it strove too hard to avoid controversy, and showed both sides being far too reasoned for a conflict based on religion.
This application of current 'PC' thinking to the ancient world rather led to a muted and directionless movie for me- they really didnt know how to end it, or how to bring Blooms character full circle to a sense of personal redemption.
Its better than Alexander, but far inferior to 300 IMO.
