Began teaching students in 1995. I teach around fifty folks and make zilch. Just like doing it.

i got about 60 dollars every 6 weeks... didnt even pay for gas, but i think that many of you will find... thats not why one chooses to teach

He's not wrong. I lost money the first year I taught. It takes a while to develop a teaching style that gives students the right info in the right order at the right pace and make it fun and challenging, particularly when you have a wide range of different abilities.
I do make money now, about a third of my full time salary.

It is awfully easy to call professional sensei sellouts when we artist have said it is above financial gain but honestly if I could make a living only teaching karate, hell yes, I'd do it.
