i don't know if this is the right forum to place this but. i'm going to go for it anyways. My problem is. i'm trying to learn how to do backflips, and crazy stuff like that. and i'm practicing right now this thing where you jump backwards, like that frog leap thingy law does in tekken, then spring up once i hit the ground. anyways my problem there is, i'm scared to jump backwards. how can i over come this fear. I HAD TONS OF PILLOWS UNDER ME. but i still couldn't get my self to jump. thanks for all replies.

Well it's quite natural, (nearly) everyone is scared to jump.
I admit I'm scared to jump (which involves getting my head closest to the floor) as well. But like with every fear you probably just have to get over it, take one step at the time. Perhaps learn a perfect backflip on a trampoline so you're certain of the movement and it feels comfortable.
The best thing you can do to learn all the acrobatics is join a gymnastic club, have you considered that yet?

It is the hardest part of doing a backflip. Im scared of doing it because I worry I wont make it and I will land on my head or something like that. Anyway if you really want to do it then practice on a trampoline as it gives you more height. You may need to make your back a bit more flexible as well. Try doing a bridge/crab either by yourself or get someone to slowly lift you higher.
Good luck trying and rememeber it wont all happen overnight

hmmm i can only add theory but here goes. my ex-girlfriend used to be a cheerleader and i asked how she could front/back flips/handsprings. she told me the way is to break the movement down in my head and just go from there. and also try doing hand springs before full blown flips cause they are essentially the "basics" of flips. hand springs are just a back/front flip with your hands touching the floor and pushing off of the floor. but i would go and find a qualified instructor before you do this!
