what conclusion?? when we do dynamic stretching??..cause it was explained 2 me what it is....and i know when we do it..i'm in my class u know....

Stretch as many ways as you can, as many parts as ou can, even if they're on opposite ends of the body. PS: I have my side split now.

Not to hijack the thread, but i can't seem to do a side split either. I can side kick my friend in the head (if i wanted to, not that i would) and he's 6'4". The problem is that when i go down, my hips start to hurt. I'm only a few inches from the floor but it feels like my hips are going to dislocate when i try doing a side split. What should i do about that?

I had that feeling when I started out, too. Turns out my legs weren't straight enough, so my knees were locking and putting pressure on the hip joints. Try to keep your legs as straight as possible, within comfort.

Practice. I used to do TKD when i was younger...and got to a very reasonable rank. I regret stopping...I wish I could be doing it again but I never have rides...and I don't have my liscence for a few months. The key is to know the difference between the feeling of stretching and pain. some people just aren't built to split to the ground. Just don't stress ligaments and muscles.

it's a lil strange...cause sometimes i reach really close 2 the ground.like about 5inches off or less..and sometimes i'm like 12inches off...can anyone explain y this is so??...
but i haven't been 2 a serious training in like a week..cause i'm still recoverin from grading..i haven't done any sorta of stretches...so i know i'm gonna be in a mess....

I am also getting quite close, within a few inches of the side split. I am going to try putting the paper on the floor and seeing if that is the ticket. Thanks for the idea.

i can kick well above my head and i can not do complete splits.its not wether you can do the splits. its wether you are pushing yourself or not. The best way to get high kicks, is to practice your kicks over and over and over, each time getting higher and higher. it takes time and practice. its not gonna happen overnight. keep workin hard Matt And remember..."With great power comes great responsiblity."

Dynamic, lays on your side propped up on elbow- your top leg is brought up as if some weird kick- warm up first- repeat- repeat- start going harder after the while- increases flexibility and muscles that
