Anyone ever heard of Personal Best karate? I'm looking for a place where my kids and I can all train, but where we also practice decent MA.

I'd second that!

From a member of Personal Best karate. I know when I look for a MA school, I want to know if they have a good selection of music...

Bassaiguy, what areas can you travel to in Mass.? Am sure we could find you a better place than this! Or at least give you some options to check out.

I'm new to the Taunton area, so I'm just finding my way around. I understand that the place is a franchise, but is that, in and of itself, a bad thing?

Bassaiguy,

No, a franchise isn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as the primary goal of the franchise is the betterment of the art, and not to be a money factory.

I won't pass judgement on 'Personal Best', but their website sure does seem to spend a lot more time talking about money (and setting up new franchises) than what their program actually has to offer to aspiring martial artists who want to learn.

Ok sorry about the delay.

http://www.eclectickarate.com/aua.htm

There are two Tang Soo Do schools and a Kenpo school in Taunton, MA. The contact details are shown in the above link.

There are some schools here for the Greater Taunton area, not too sure what some of them teach though, but the contact details are on the above page. Some other stuff there too you may not be interested in, such as TKD in Raynham.
