Ok I am somewhat of a history buff. If you know anything about the movie 300 you would be pumped too. All the guys in the film had to train hard to get in shape for there roles. You have to check it out.

Go here click Making of 300 - Video Journals - Spartan Training. Some cool stuff in here. The best part is the trainer he just sounds brutal.

Mark Twight, I like what he is doing. I'd like to try his workout though his goal is to look good but he also offers functionality. I want to be a Spartan. Starts with rolling tires ... Cord, you have the heart of a Spartan. All hail Cord.

everything that they are doing in that video is exactly what the gym in my signature link is all about, and exactly what i keep on about here regarding function and aesthetics being intertwined with good training.
Long before gyms, dumbells, pec decks, and treadmills, there was hard physical labour - farming, sailing the seas, smithing etc. It was observed that those involved with such endeavours were much stronger and robust than the more genteel classes, for whom hard work consisted of choosing which wig to wear.

Exercise is merely a simulated increase in physical labour.
The other division people seem keen to create, is that 'old school' training can not be done or adapted to fit in with our modern understanding of physiology and kinesiology. Not so. Old school training applied with new school knowledge of the body is not only the way to go for sports performance and functional attributes, but also for those with 'buff' as their prime word of motivation.

I just got a big tire dropped off at my karate school. I flipped it once and then had to take a rest. I have to clean it and wait until there isn't all this snow to try again. I am going to post a tire routine soon.

Seen these videos, they're training quite a lot like how I train. This HIIT method is excellent imho and very challenging and also really fun!
