F.E.A.R. is simply my favourite FPS- from the plot (Akira meets Ringu), through the single player Computer A.I., and the best use of 'bullet time' as a legitemate gameplay feature, not just a flash add on.
You should invest in the extension pack- extraction point/Perseus Mandate - new weapons, furthers the story a bit, and will keep you busy till F.E.A.R. 2 is released later this year
I am loving Assassins Creed- simply beautiful. It is easy to control, and i can see why this drew criticism, but if you sit back and allow the game to flow, you see that it is a modern take on 'Dragon's Lair' where the controls were easy to allow for the 'wow' factor. This has been designed more as an interactive movie than a platform/sandbox title, and I love it.
Oh man, Sould Caliber on the Dreamcast was so far ahead of its time its just not true (come to think of it, so was the Dreamcast). None of the sequels have looked, or handled as well on the other platforms since. IV looks like it may recapture the magic of its birth title. Fingers crossed.
