Sounds about like the valley here in Oregon. Oregon state flower? Mildew.

Yup, Heretik: Facial hair rules! This photo is approximately 3 years old, I took it from Oldman's Hoodat since I don't know how to post pictures. I havn't changed too much though. The most visible difference, I think, is my moustache. As you can see, it doesn't connect with the rest of my beard, a rather uncommon characteristic for a Caucasian. Well, while I usually keep the thickness of my beard to the fixed length of 15 milimeters, I now let the extremities of my moustache grow longer. They're long enough to reach my chin (I keep them at that length) and depending on my mood of the day, either hang freely old-Chinese style, or blend into my beard in a more occidental fashion, thus bridging the aforementioned missing connection. A bit like that: PS: Wearing a beard ALSO saves you the trouble of shaving daily. I just trim it once a week, and it's a much quicker task than a standard shave. My neck has to be shaved though, but it's just a small surface and even if I forget (or feel to lazy) to do it, the high contrast with my very black beard almost makes it look like a baby's skin even after two days... By the way, I don't know why I always look so evil on pictures. I'd think of the real me as a rather friendly guy...

Give me another day, and I'll get a newer picture of me taken. My hair's long now, and finally red! Wish it was a bit brighter, but oh well, you can't get everything. -Taison out

Congrats, Joel! Very cute couple... Nice sideburns, by the way. Very Victorian. (the long hair would rather pull your style towards earlier somewhere in the romantic period, though...) Taison: now that you've grown a long red head of hair, I suggest you apply the same treatment to your beard (if not already done) in order to complete your Viking look. I mean, face it, my friend: Joel, Jason, Cord, me... The league of bearded gentlemen is obviously taking the boards over. Join the dark side...

I got a very 'spartan' looking goatee. Was thinking of keeping it black to contrast with my hair. Now I just need to figure how to grow it out to look more 'chinese' than a stump on my face. Today's been raining so the light is kinda messed up and you can't really see the color, I'll get it done tomorrow with a better camera. Quote:

Dereck has a beard now? That's news to me, I thought he still looked like that. But I was off the forum for two years, so I need to catch up a bit. Glad to welcome both you and him among us hairy creatures! Not sure what long red hair with a black goatee look like, but eager to find out. I like long hair and for some time even considered growing mine long enough to wear it as a traditional chon-mage (would look great in a iaido demo - might give my Chinese gongfu instructor a fit though), but taking care of long hair is just too much trouble (plus it's too damn hot). Come to think of it, I bow at your bravoury for I'm agonizing in heat here in Beijing, and it must be much worse where you are.
