Well said. And GSP's next fight is against Matt Serra on Superbowl Sunday. So I wonder if Hughes is retiring now.

Matt hughes is still very good in stand up just not world class. Wrestling, ground and pound and submission is what he does best but he is still a decent striker. Better than most of us probably. Or me anyway.

Alessio Sakara lost. It was a good banger fight with them both throwing everything they had including the kitchen sink. Very weird ending with what looks like a delayed reaction to a previous hit where Sakara just stops and drops to his butt in a defensive position to only take repeated punches from Drew McFedries who capitalized on the situation. Of the 9 fights on the card, this is the only one I picked wrong on.

I'm surprised. Alesio Sakara is supposed to be an almost unstoppable striker with fantastic boxing skills. Has he won at all?

He's 14-4-0

Everybody can lose and this was his time. Drew McFedries was a last minute replacement and won so good for him.

I also said the original post was wrong because people say stuff like that because they're weak, so they like to attribute stuff they lack to the loser and stuff they think they have to the winner.

While I'm no fan of Matt Hughes, I do enjoy many of his fights and for a person who's accomplished quite a bit. I look forward to GSP and Matt meeting up again. I have to say though, Matt almost looked defeated before he entered the cage ... and as well the same demeanor when he fought BJ Penn. Maybe something is going on mentally with him and why his performance was not up to par with other of his matches. Maybe this is why there are rumors running amock about his early retirement. Perhaps he said something to somebody and it wasn't suppose to be said and now he is back tracing or perhaps doing crowd control? We won't know for sure but I hope he sticks around to fight GSP again.
