Jeff Monson lost to decision, not a very entertaining fight to me. And GSP defeated Matt Hughes in the second round by TKO, knocked him down with a shin to the head and followed up with the ground and pound, it was an awesome fight.

I thought Monson would have dominated on the ground, but If Tim managed to dictate the fight to his strengths all credit to him.
I am truly suprised by the GSP win- its not that I didn't think he had the skill to do it, its just Hughes has been 'in the zone' for so long that feels weird to think of him being beaten.
How did Mir do?

Go GSP, all credit to Matt Hughes, but I find GSP much more exciting to watch.

Mir got dominated. I think it was the guys debut to who beat him, because someone else called in and couldn't make it so they picked some guy from a camp... he could fight thats for sure.
Man I knew GSP would win. GSP made Matt Hughes look amateur he was so overpowering.. thats the best I've ever seen GSP fight. The two unintentional groin shots sucked though, but you could tell GSP didn't mean to.
That spinning back kick to hughes.. sent him 8 feet into the cage. Even hughes was impressed and clapped hands before continuing the fight.

Dag! Good thing I wasn't betting money. I knew GSP and Tim could handle themselves well, but I didn't really expect that either one would be able to carry it all the way. Oh well. I look forward to seeing some of the matches on replay.

Jef Monson actaully did get Tim to the ground a couple times but his arms were to short for ground and pound, and Tim narrowly slipped out of a gioutine, all that was in round 3, other than that it was a pretty boring fight. And Brandon Vera mad quick work of Frank Mir in the first round by TKO.
