In one of the very earliest Western books about Tibetan Buddhism, entitled "The Message of the Tibetans," Arnaud Desjardin reported a conversation that he had had with Kalu Rinpoche.
He had asked Rinpoche the age-old question,
"What is Truth?"
"You live in illusion and the appearance of things. There is a reality, and you are that reality, but you donít know it. If you should ever wake up to that reality you would realize that you are nothing, and being nothing, you are everything. That is all."
